Our goal this year is to raise money for three specific programs: Imagination Library, Play and Learn, and our Community Outreach events like Child Fest, Healthy Halloween and BLOCK Fest. All money raised here, stays here, and directly benefits young children and families in the tri-county region.

Programs the auction helps fund in Avery, Mitchell & Yancey:
Imagination Library
Through the popular Imagination Library program, children receive a FREE book in the mail every month from birth until their 5th birthday. The Partnership adds components to support families’ understanding of their role in reading aloud to their child daily, building strong early literacy skills. There are currently more than 1,700 children in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties who receive books at their home each month.
Play & Learn Groups
Weekly Play & Learn groups are offered throughout the 3-county region. Children have access to materials for learning, and enjoy interacting with other young children. Parents and caregivers attend with their child, gaining support for their role in leading their child’s learning. Early literacy skills are a focus, with efforts to engage parents through strategies they can use to extend their child’s learning.
Community Outreach
Engaging our community through family-friendly events is a central component of our work. By sharing the critical importance of the First 2000 Days of early childhood, we can work together to ensure services are available to support children’s development. Check out our annual Child Fest event in April, or join children learning through block play at a BLOCK Fest event!
