Child Fest

Child Fest is the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children’s annual celebration of the young child. The event is typically held each April at Mitchell High School with activities indoor and out including inflatables, train rides, a musical calliope, and tons of fun activities!

Child Fest brings together our two favorite things— fun activities for the young (and young at heart!) with lots of valuable information about services that are available locally for parents and caregivers of young children.

While Child Fest will look different this year, there are still many interactive activities in the kids activity bags for kids create with the help of parents at home. You never know who you’ll see on the Story Time Express this year.

A volunteer from Penland School of Crafts leads a group in a make-and-take art project. Child Fest is about having fun and enjoying the day, but it’s also a place where kids learn to share, and interact with each other socially.

One of the most important things about Child Fest is encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle for young children.

Child Fest provides a family-focused atmosphere and provides  parents and caregivers access to information about quality child care, early literacy, health & nutrition and much, much more.

Kids use their imaginations to be creative and explore ideas.

We are very thankful for our generous sponsors, vendors, volunteers and parents who make Child Fest a great event year after year. Child Fest is always FREE to attend.

With hands-on activities, Child Fest provides a perfect opportunity for kids and parents to build things together.

It’s a day of magic, curiosity, laughter and fun!
